Description :

Under the Licensing Act 2003, a single integrated system has been introduced throughout Wales and England to regulate the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of entertainment to the public and the provision of late night refreshment. Under the Act there is a statutory requirement that all retail sales of alcohol must be made or authorised by a personal licence holder. In addition, all premises licensed for the sale of alcohol must have a Designated Premises Supervisor appointed for those premises. This person must be a personal licence holder. One of the statutory requirements for the grant of a personal licence is the possession of an accredited qualification and this BIIAB qualification meets this criteria. The NCPLH is awarded to those candidates who pass an examination covering the syllabus as defined by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
